Objective
Be the last monster standing or have the most element points after 15 rounds to win!
Game Flow
The game is played in rounds, with each round consisting of four phases:
- City Build Phase: Players take turns placing a new city location card onto an empty, highlighted space adjacent to an existing location.
- Military Build Phase: Players take turns placing one Military Defense Unit (MDU) card from their hand face-down onto a valid, unoccupied city location.
- Monster Action Phase: Each monster gets two actions. An action can be a Move to an adjacent tile or an Attack on an adjacent target.
- Military Defense Attack Phase: All revealed MDUs on the board automatically attack any monsters within their range.
Combat & Elements
- Attacking: An attack hits if your roll (1d6 + bonuses) meets or beats the target's Defense.
- Elemental Points: Destroying Locations or MDUs earns you their element points. These are your victory points and fuel for special attacks.
- Enrage: Your monster becomes ENRAGED when its HP is below 50% OR when you meet its specific element goal. Enraged monsters get +2 to basic attacks and can use powerful Special Attacks by spending element points.
- MDUs: Attacking a face-down MDU reveals it. If you miss, it counter-attacks! Moving onto a face-down MDU reveals it and it damages you immediately.
Winning the Game
You win by either defeating all other monsters, or by having the most total element points if the game reaches the end of Round 15.
